Hot Wheels Centering Grade Calculator
How do I calculate the centering grade of a Hot Wheels card?
Upload a front-face photo and BlisterEye's centering calculator measures the printed-area offset on the L/R and T/B axes, returns both ratios (e.g. 55/45 L/R, 52/48 T/B), and predicts the centering subgrade and AFA / CAS overall grade cap. ≤55/45 on both axes is required for AFA 90+.
Centering is the silent grade-killer. A perfectly preserved card with 60/40 centering caps at AFA 85 — the kind of detail that costs $50-$300 per slab. The calculator gives you the ratio in ten seconds, before you pay the slab fee.
How the calculator measures centering
BlisterEye detects the cardboard edge and the printed-area boundaries on the front-face photo, computes the four margin distances (L, R, T, B), and outputs the L:R and T:B ratios as percentages. The closer to 50/50, the higher the centering subgrade.
What the centering subgrade actually caps
Centering is 15% of the overall BlisterEye score and the third-most-cited subgrade by AFA. A perfectly preserved card with 65/35 centering caps overall at AFA 80; with 70/30 it caps at AFA 75 regardless of every other axis.
