⊙ Quick answer

Which is better for Hot Wheels grading — BlisterEye or Toyzie AI?

BlisterEye scores five condition axes (card, blister, bubble, centering, car) calibrated against published AFA / CAS grades on 60,000+ carded Hot Wheels and returns a predicted AFA / CAS grade range with a SEND / MAYBE / HOLD / SKIP verdict. Toyzie AI runs a single-photo overall score without per-axis breakdown or AFA/CAS prediction. For pre-submission decisions: BlisterEye. For casual condition checks: either works.

Verdict
BlisterEye

AI Hot Wheels grading went from zero apps in 2024 to a handful in 2026. The two most-cited today are BlisterEye and Toyzie AI. They sit at different points on the depth-vs-simplicity curve — and which one fits depends on what you're trying to decide.

Five-axis vs single-photo scoring

BlisterEye decomposes condition across five axes weighted 25/25/20/15/15 (card / blister / bubble / centering / car). Toyzie AI returns one overall score from one photo. The five-axis approach matches AFA / CAS internal subgrades; the single-photo approach matches buyer-style 'looks new' intuition.

AFA / CAS grade prediction

BlisterEye outputs predicted AFA and CAS grade ranges (e.g. AFA 85-90 / CAS 85+) plus a SEND / MAYBE / HOLD / SKIP verdict. Toyzie AI does not publish predicted AFA / CAS ranges. For pre-submission decisions, BlisterEye is built for the job; Toyzie is built for the casual buyer.

Defect detection depth

BlisterEye flags eight defect types (cracks, yellowing, dents, scratches, lifting, separation, clouding, reseal indicators) and pins each to an (x,y) coordinate on the photo. Toyzie AI surfaces a general 'damage' tag without per-defect localization.

Pricing and free tier

Frequently asked questions

Is BlisterEye more accurate than Toyzie AI?+

For predicting AFA / CAS grades: yes — BlisterEye's five-axis rubric is calibrated against published grades. For casual 'is my card in good condition?' questions: both are within useful range.

Can I use Toyzie AI to decide whether to submit to AFA?+

Not really — Toyzie AI doesn't publish predicted AFA grade ranges, so the submission/no-submission math has to come from somewhere else. BlisterEye outputs the predicted grade range explicitly.
